Director, Information Technology

Reporting to the CFO, the Director, Information Technology is responsible for the overall technology direction while maintaining, developing and implementing infrastructure and application information technology initiatives.  The Director, Information Technology manages the IT team and provides administrative direction and support of IT operational activities.  The IT Director will monitor new and existing technologies and assess their potential while identifying opportunities and risks for the business.  They will work with senior management regarding the company’s technology strategy while maintaining current information about IT assets, technology standards, disaster recovery and IT security to enhance business operations and technology advancements throughout the organization.

Accountabilities

Leadership

  • Set information technology goals and objectives, aligning with corporate strategic goals
  • Create and communicate benchmarks for efficiency, accuracy and productivity
  • Oversee management of the daily operations and staff of all IT business systems (both hardware and software)
  • Work with stakeholders and users to prioritize requirements
  • Ensure the alignment of projects with the technology that provides maximum ROI
  • Research, review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes, and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
  • Maintain a productive, high performing team through coaching, mentoring, training and developing personal growth opportunities for team members

Operations

  • Develop, implement, review and maintain information technology supporting processes and ensure their alignment and relationship with the core IT processes and strategies including those for architecture, disaster recovery, security and purchasing
  • Work with the executive team to develop the strategic direction of IT solutions
  • Oversee facilities, operations, and maintenance of servers, networks (both LAN and WAN), routers, end user computing, peripherals, backup systems, all data communications between multiple sites, and all voice communications. This includes managing external IT providers/vendors.
  • Work with vendors to negotiate contracts for the best value for the organization

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of combined information technology and business experience
  • 5 years in an IT leadership role
  • Experience with data warehousing and enterprise reporting
  • Understanding of financial software and reporting
  • Experience with evolving IT solutions
  • Understanding of computer software systems and business operations networks and systems
  • Ability to build sustained and valuable relationships with senior business stakeholders
  • Ability to influence senior business stakeholders suggesting pragmatic approaches and raising challenges as appropriate
  • Ability to identify opportunities for IT to improve the business as part of strategic change
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with and present to a variety of senior-level executives, both internal and external to the company
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
