Lead Enterprise Architect

The Lead Enterprise Architect leads will work with business units in the delivery of architectural practices to enable the business to deliver products and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.  Responsible for delivering Enterprise wide architecture and overseeing key IT developments to ensure current and future system designs are reviewed, documented and assessed for strategic alignment and organizational risk.

The role is primarily responsible for:

  • Facilitating the improvement of Enterprise Architecture strategies, standards, practices and governance
  • Providing key guidance to project and initiative on strategic direction, best practices and technology usage
  • Establishing Enterprise Architecture corporate memory through artefacts and repositories
  • Reporting key metrics, architecture exceptions and project alignment to strategic direction
  • Monitoring emerging technologies and architecture trends for innovative opportunities
  • Current project priority to create and build an and deploy an integration architecture on Azure Cloud
  • Formal Enterprise Architecture Methodology training
  • Strong Information and Data management Knowledge
  • Integration architecture delivery and design

Experience

  • Min 15 years related experience in Enterprise architecture and related disciplines
  • Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills
  • Able to multi-task and flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
  • Well-developed negotiation, sales/ influencing skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building and listening skills Effective leader who motivates and engages others through fostering a collaborative team environment… OR/ Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience within Financial Services industry (or other industry/sector)
  • Solid Architecture, Practices and Technology expertise
  • Thorough understanding of emerging technologies and trends
  • Solid understanding of Project Management and SDLC methodologies
  • Solution-focused, takes initiative to ensuring self and team work effectively within established guidelines
  • Service Oriented Architecture
  • DevOps (an asset)
  • Agile (an asset)
  • SAP ERP experience including HANA (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on Enterprise architecture competency
  • Participate in the Architecture Review Committee (ARB), guiding the evolution of the practice as well as on-going operation
  • Participate directly on key projects to ensure Enterprise architecture opportunities and risks are adequately assessed and the project team has the required architecture support and guidance to deliver the business needs
  • Deliver Enterprise architecture technology roadmaps to support prioritized architecture areas
  • Work with technical, application, information and solution architects in defining and driving forward solutions aligned to enterprise strategies.
  • Assist IT leadership in delivering an architecture of business enablers and accelerators at an effective TCO
  • Contribute and socialize the Enterprise Architecture, standards, practices and supporting artefacts
  • Assist the business with business case development and prioritization for solution investments
  • Maintain the inventory of IT assets across the enterprise
  • Raise awareness of architecture standards and best practices
  • Develop key architecture artefact templates and guidelines to be incorporated into the PMO methodology
  • Provide Enterprise context and directional guidance to Solution Architects relating to architecture standards and principles
  • Actively execute and evolve the Architecture review and exception process.
  • Guide and oversee the development/maintenance, adoption and communication of Enterprise Architecture strategies, policies, standards and guidelines
  • Track and report architecture standards and exceptions
  • Provide plans and tracking of architecture roadmaps, standards, supporting artefacts and architecture adherence
  • Establish and maintain Architecture domain KPI’s and measures.

This is a minimum 6 month contract with a possible conversion to FTE opportunity located in downtown Toronto.
