UX Web Designer

Our client is currently looking for a UX Web Designer (Front End) to join their team in Toronto.  The UX Web Designer (Front End) role is a key role that will work closely with various IT teams and business units, both locally and globally, with focused responsibility on the design and maintenance of corporate Internet and Intranet sites.  Working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, this role will be responsible for designing, troubleshooting and supporting web sites and content for a variety of corporate departments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders, including Marketing, Investor Relations and Information Technology to prepare textual content for websites (including feature articles, advertising copy, database content, FAQs, links, etc.);
  • Contribute to the top-level and detailed design of company websites and e-newsletters, focusing on the ways in which the goals for the site and the needs of users can be met through the provision of appropriate content;
  • Contribute to the selection or design of appropriate content management software;
  • Respond to user enquiries, comments and suggestions;
  • Work with third party vendors and design firms to create integrated solutions;
  • Stay current with technological developments in web design and development, as well as management and user support practices;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Web UX Design and visual design (user experience);
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Basic web coding skills including HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
  • Experience with SharePoint administration and content management;
  • Familiarity with SEO (search engine optimization), web marketing and social media management;
  • Familiarity with common content management systems, such as WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc;
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Projects a mature, professional and optimistic attitude;
  • Ability to set, commit to and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs

This is a permanent position located in Toronto, ON with an annual salary of $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per annum plus bonus and benefits.
