The contract position is for the Online QA team responsible of a number of systems including an Online website, Community website and in-store Kiosks. The Online QA Team is part of the overall Quality Assurance department within Indigo’s IT organization. The QA Analyst will apply their knowledge of QA test methodologies, practices, tools and technologies to produce high quality results.
Key Responsibilities
•Ensure the delivery of high quality testing services and products
•Ensure Software Quality Assurance Standards are being met throughout the product lifecycle
•Interact with developers to ensure the deliverables meet requirements
•Analyze functional, technical and business requirements for small to medium sized projects
•Design, develop and execute test plans and test cases using manual and automated processes
•Configure test environments and generate test data
•Report and evaluate defects and issues using a defect tracking system
•Provide status reports detailing progress against objectives
•Highlight issues/risks to project lead or manager for resolution
•Maintain a supportive, positive, open and honest QA culture
•Understand and keep abreast of current technology
Qualifications
•Computer Science Degree, other related diploma/degree or equivalent experience accompanied with formal computer training
•Minimum 3-4 years work experience in Software Quality Assurance with an emphasis on internet and e-commerce applications
•Knowledge of software development life cycle and project management processes, Agile or Iterative processes an asset
•Experience writing black box and GUI test cases, designing tests to mitigate risk, and helping business experts define requirements
•Experience writing simple SQL queries and insert/update statements and basic grasp of SQL Server
•Experience collaborating with programmers and business experts
•Experience in context-based, exploratory, or scenario testing a plus
•Ability to work as part of a self-organizing team in which you determine your tasks on a daily basis in coordination with coworkers rather than waiting for work to be assigned
•Experience with some scripting or programming language and/or automated test tools such as Selenium, Fitnesse and JMeter
•Experience using defect-management (bug-tracking) software
•Experience testing Web UIs with different web browsers (IE, FF, Safari, Chrome)
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Operating Systems
•Self-starter who takes initiative and requires minimal supervision
