Our client requires a highly motivated individual to provide a range of technical/network administration & IT support services to users (both local and remote locations) in their National office, located in Toronto. Working with our Information Technology team, this individual will provide users with effective, friendly customer service; provide timely and consistent support; administer internal systems such as backing up, restoring data, maintenance, etc.
The successful incumbent must have strong verbal and written communications skills, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, must be proactive and conscientious and have proven experience (1-3 years) in a user support environment.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to)
- Provide direct desktop support to users (via technical calls, emails and voicemail) to assist with daily software/hardware requirements
- Promote and ensure compliance with national standards throughout their office
- Coordinate with National IT team with respect to user’s problems with national systems such as email, internet/intranet sites, remote access systems and any other area
- Ensure servers are monitored on a daily basis, checking event logs, ensuring successful backups and reviewing performance and settings for any potential problems or security issues
- Ensure issues related to network throughput, bandwidth and connectivity, as well as switches and routers, are identified and addressed
- Resolve calls at a first level of support
- Incident Management/Escalation
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Desktop/application experience WAN/LAN environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows (XP), Windows Server (2000/2003)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications
- Knowledge of desktop level applications – Internet Explorer, Norton Antivirus
- Knowledge of PC diagnostic tools
- Knowledge of HP printers & photocopiers
Shifts:
5:00AM - 1:30PM
7:30AM - 4:00PM (M-F or T- S)
3:30PM- Midnight (S- T)
9:00AM -5:30PM (M-F)
2:00PM - 10:30PM (M-F)
