The Web Architect will be responsible for managing the development and enhancement of the company's websites at a corporate level and marketing initiatives.

To this end, he/she will ensure the company's strategic alignment in the use of web technologies, and will establish and enforce guidelines, policies, standards and procedures for web initiatives. He/she will also manage contractual agreements and follow up on related costs. Finally, he/she will manage the inventory of web initiatives, administer the domain names and oversee internal rebilling

 
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Guidance and Monitoring:

•Establish policies and guidelines for employees, especially regarding social networks;
•Develop and follow up on policies and guidelines regarding the development of corporate websites;
•Monitor projects involving the development of corporate sites, based on objectives, schedules and budgets, especially budget approval rules;
•Develop and monitor hosting standards, manage SaaS and other hosting contracts;
•Ensure the implementation of mechanisms to protect the company against the disclosure of confidential information;
•Manage activity/project priorities;

Operational management:

•Create and maintain a list of all web initiatives;
•Maintain a homogenous structure between the different websites and web applications in terms of architecture, presentation, templates, brand image, etc.;
•Manage all domain names;
•Manage annual rebilling related to domain names;
•Track web information concerning the company;
•Provide statistics on site performance and traffic;

Strategy and planning:

•Manage the Web Strategy committee to ensure that the web strategies comply with the company's business needs;
•Establish a strategic plan for the company's presence on the web;
•Make recommendations to management and website managers concerning development strategies or solutions;
•Provide leadership in web-based technologies;
•Monitor new technologies, research emerging technologies;
•Participate in the annual budget planning and development process.

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science;
•Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience;
•Recognized expertise in web strategy and technologies (certification or equivalent experience);
•Recognized expertise in project management;
•Excellent knowledge of web technologies (programming languages, operations, intranet/extranet architecture, etc.);
•Excellent knowledge of the web industry, project management and Microsoft Project software;
•Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite are an asset;
•Experience in employee management;
•Excellent communication skills;
•Bilingual, spoken and written – French and English;
•Ability to understand the business needs. Acting as a liaison with various stakeholders of the company.
