Manager Vendor Management and Procurement
As a Manager, Vendor Management and Procurement you are accountable for executing procurement initiatives and managing assigned spend categories and vendor relationships to deliver commercial value, manage third‑party risk, and support business priorities. You will work closely with business, technology, legal, and risk partners to implement procurement strategies and ensure supplier arrangements are commercially sound and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Execute procurement initiatives across assigned categories, from market analysis and supplier evaluation through negotiation and contract award.
- Support the development and execution of category and procurement strategies that optimize value, manage risk, and align with business needs.
- Lead competitive procurement and RFP processes, including supplier analysis, evaluation scoring, and award recommendations.
- Act as a hands‑on practitioner, able to read, interpret, draft, and edit commercial contracts, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Negotiate supplier agreements within defined authority levels, balancing cost, risk, and service considerations.
- Support vendor onboarding, due diligence, and B‑10 contract assessments, ensuring alignment with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and contribute to cost‑saving and value‑creation opportunities within assigned categories.
- Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and vendors, supporting issue resolution and ongoing performance management.
- Apply and promote procurement best practices, tools, and processes to support consistency and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, contract management or vendor management.
- Experience in financial services or a regulated industry is an asset.
- Solid commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to assess cost, risk, and business impact.
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional partners across business, legal, technology, and risk teams.
This is a 15 month contract hybrid role (maternity leave) with possible extension located in downtown Toronto.
