Senior Business Analyst (BA)
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst on an initial 6 month contract to support an Information Security Assessment initiative. The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will collaborate with the project team members including their business partners to collect, clarify, and map business processes into the underlying technology components.
Responsibilities
- Participate in planning sessions to understand how data is collected, processed and stored
- Work with stakeholders to collect information on processes, procedures, guidelines to support best practice standards
- Perform reviews of related business processes, procedures and controls, making recommendations for remediation
- Translate findings and controls into actionable tasks and drive remediation efforts
- Review specific data flows and identify technology components, interfaces, and opportunities to simplify and improve data collection, storage and transmission for specific business groups
- Build, sustain and leverage relationships with individuals within his/her area of immediate responsibility when investigating and assessing systems/processes to establish a comfort level in managing relationships and understanding business needs and assurance that a quality result will be delivered
- Identify inconsistencies and gaps within a business process description and collaborate with stakeholders to clarify and simplify complex processes
- Facilitate investigative and assessment sessions, including leading discussions, managing group dynamics, and maintaining group focus, to work towards accomplishing the stated goal(s) of the session within the context of the project objectives
- Support the creation of a discovery report
- Utilize corporate standard software, templates, and tools to create documentation in accordance with PMO standards
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive business analysis experience, supporting smaller to medium size projects
- Solid understanding of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards
- Varied experience in business process re-engineering projects
- Strong understanding of PMLC/ SDLC methodology and processes
- Solution-focused and takes initiative to work effectively and efficiently within established guidelines
- Strong organizational, time management, analysis and attention to detail and follow-up with project stakeholders
- Well developed negotiation, influencing, interpersonal relationship building and listening skills
- Excellent written / verbal communication, documentation skills and professional maturity
- Able to effectively prioritize, multi-task and flourish in a fast paced, deadline-driven work environment
- Consistently demonstrates and reinforces organizational values
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and other related technology requirements
This is a minimum 6 month contract role located in downtown Toronto
