Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for defining, designing, integrating, testing, documenting and deploying solutions for assigned projects and tasks. The position will implement and support services in the Enterprise Architecture domain and work on new projects based on requirements prepared by the project management office.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the other Architects on technical implementation of solutions for scheduled annual projects and tasks.
• Integration and implementation of solutions with other systems and applications for services in the Enterprise Architecture domain.
• Understanding and clarifying business requirements, concentrating on the current but keeping future requirements in mind.
• Designing, developing, documenting and implementing technical solutions.
• Preparing time estimates for design, development and unit testing.
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation (including standards and procedures) as required.
• Working collaboratively with other IT departments and the user community.
• Ensuring proper resolution of any system issues as established in the service-level agreement.
• Providing on-call support outside of regular business hours as needed.
• Facilitating requests for new and upgraded technologies that may involve both hardware and software.
• As third level support, you will be investigating, resolving and documenting issues and requests received via incident management tracking system and prioritizing each request.
• Escalating incidents in a proper and timely manner per procedure to facilitate resolution.
• Participating in projects as required, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications• 5 years of related progressive experience in IT
• 3 years experience with Microsoft Active Directory
• 3 years experience with Microsoft SCCM Infrastructure Administration, Installation and Support
• 3 years Microsoft SQL Server (2008/2012) experience (Deploying/Maintaining)
• 3 years VMware Experience
• 3 years Microsoft Windows Server experience (Deploying/Maintaining)
• 2 years PowerShell Experience (asset)
• Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities
• Ability to travel as needed

This a permanent hybrid role located in downtown Toronto with an annual salary of $100,000.00 plus benefits and bonus.
