Fibre Field Supervisor
Our client specializing in the engineering and deployment of fiber optic telecommunications networks is looking for a Fibre Field Supervisor in support of their Newfoundland projects.
Responsibilities
• Be the hands-on site supervisor for various fibre installs and equipment deployment
• Work and coordinate with selected installers, suppliers and partners
• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the fibre telecommunications team
• Interface between the field operations team and operations, project coordinators for on going builds and up coming builds
• Manage the distribution of required equipment and materials for site deployment as well track and manage inventory
• Drive the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; ensure project milestones and completion dates are met
• Conduct site meets with the City/Municipality to ensure correct areas are being marked
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies
• Anticipate issues in complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including reports, logs and documentation
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with fibre optics cable network installs
• Interest/exposure to supervising field fibre installs
• Experience dealing with 3rd party telecommunication installers/technicians
• Project management experience
• Ability to lead technicians, installers and service providers
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
This is a permanent minimum 2 year term role supporting projects across Clarenville, Swift Current, Bonavista and the Burin Peninsula in Newfoundland.
