Agile Project Manager

The Agile Project Manager is also responsible for assisting in implementing and revising project management processes and templates that best suit the company and the types of projects being delivered.  This role will work in a high level of collaboration with other Project Managers on the Project Management Office (PMO) team.

Responsibilities

Act as project manager on small to medium or large sized projects of varying complexity including the tasks below

  • Securing sponsor and leadership approval to initiate the project
  • Develop, publish and acquire approvals on the project charter
  • Work with business analysts to ensure that business requirements are accurately documented and approved by the business
  • Define the project scope, objectives, key deliverables, risks, budget, resources and secure the required approvals
  • Develop, manage, monitor and report on the project budget, resource plan, benefits plan, risks, issues and change management plans
  • Prepare and execute the overall project plan and manage all project dependencies
  • Define the work, time and costs estimates and forecasts
  • Manage progress to requirements and monitoring and controlling project work
  • Report progress to the sponsor and key stakeholders
  • Manage sponsor and stakeholder expectations
  • Ensure development, storage and retention of appropriate project documentation
  • Act as a collaborator with other Project Managers of varying skill levels.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience on multiple medium to large sized projects.
  • PMP certification is required.
  • High level of knowledge and experience in both Waterfall and Agile SDLC processes and procedures in IS/IT projects.
  • Strong ability to develop project plans, coordinate projects, communicate status and complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and document business process where applicable.
  • Effective planning, communication, influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Agile project management certification is a strong asset.
  • Advanced experience and understanding of software development life cycle methodologies and quality assurance processes and practices.
  • Advanced experience in coaching and developing people.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office Suite (Visio inclusive)
  • Solid creative thinking and problem-solving skills and experience required.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent is an asset.
  • Diligent attention to detail is essential due to the nature of the work.
  • Sound ethics and confidentiality with good customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi task and prioritize is a must.

This is a permanent position located in Whitby, ON with an annual salary of $95,000.00 – $100,000.00 plus benefits.  Work from home until deemed safe.
