Senior Project Control Officer (PCO)
We are currently looking for a Senior Project Control Officer (PCO) for a 6-month contract with a possible extension located in downtown Toronto.
Business Unit Description / Mandate: The PMO works as a strategic partner with the business in developing solutions and related governance for use to meet on-going and future business needs. The group provides the infrastructure for automation and systems support to ensure all lines of business are afforded the functionality they require. In maintaining and launching business critical applications such ServiceNow, IT mitigates risk and improves efficiencies.
Training & Development Requirements:
- Compliance and Security tests (mandatory)
- Orientation to Project Management Methodology (PMM)
Related Experience:
- Project control management coordination and support experience for technology/delivery projects
- Project financial and budget management
- Managing project workstreams for medium-to-large projects
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining project plans, reports
Specialized Skills:
- PMP certification (an asset)
- Expert Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Visio
Nice to have skills:
- Project Management and/or Finance background an asset
- EPPM (Planview, Clarity, MS EPPM) an asset
Position Overview:
- Responsible for the maintenance, control, coordination and administration of assigned Project(s).
- Responsible for providing project support services applying all project management standards and Project Management Methodology requirements. Identify and escalate obvious gaps/conflicts to the Program/Project Manager(s) as needed to ensure corrective action takes place.
- Assist with project financial and resource forecasts including budget variances and project dashboard reporting, and maintain project schedules, and control logs RAID/RACI/PCR.
- Ensures all project related documentation is final approved, version controlled, and archived in the central repository.
- Act as the central point of communication for core team members and other key stakeholders.
Impact:
- Daily monitoring and follow-up on project actions is needed including escalation when applicable for corrective action/resolution. – Responsible for providing transparency and status information regarding deliverables to the Project/Program Manager.
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with the project team, peers within the business and parallel support functions.
Skills:
- Strong understanding PMLC/ SDLC methodology and processes
- Solution-focused and takes initiative to work effectively and efficiently within established guidelines
- Strong organizational, time management, analysis and attention to detail and follow-up with project stakeholders
- Ensures full transparency regarding Project Change controls and RAID log management; escalates issues to Project Manager where appropriate
- Excellent documentation management (end-to-end)
- Well developed negotiation, influencing, interpersonal relationship building and listening skills
- Excellent written / verbal communication, documentation skills and professional maturity
- Able to effectively prioritize, multi-task and flourish in a fast paced, deadline-driven work environment

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and other related technology requirement
This is a minimum 6 month contract role located in downtown Toronto.
